Buoys Totems
‘In the hollow of the wave, the buoys are joyful.
Comforting softness, their rounded, reflective surface sparkles.
A carousel of coppery, light, and colorful beacons.
Stacked on a mast, they watch over the vast horizon.’
Stacked copper buoys arranged on patinated steel structures. This sculpture draws inspiration from the archetypal shapes of maritime beacons. Like them, these totems appear destabilized by the currents. Buoys Totems was conceived as part of the exhibition Art Balise, held at the Port Musée in Douarnenez, France.
